Field Trip The Robert W. Diane E. Gibson Museum of Sheppard Pratt Friday, June 27, 2025, @noon | Join us for a field trip to The Robert W. and Diane E. Gibson Museum of Sheppard Pratt in Towson, MD. Discover the rich history of mental health treatment, explore nearly 2,000 artifacts, and learn about Sheppard Pratt’s Quaker roots and legacy. Highlights include the “Evolution of Treatment” exhibit, original hospital blueprints, and stories from the hospital’s early years. Field Trip The Gordon Center: Artist Reception for Hadar Goldin Monday, May 12, 2025, @6pm | The Gordon Center for Performing Arts is holding an exhibition and a reception honoring Hadar Goldin, a Jewish patriot, humanitarian and artist. During the reception, the artist's mother, Leah Goldin will be joining in, followed by a short film screening on Hadar's life and artistic talent. Field Trip Baltimore Friday, April 4, 2025 | The Baltimore Immigration Memorial and Locust Point Community United Church of Christ have established a museum in the historic Immigrant House, which sheltered thousands of immigrants from 1904 to 1915. Discover exhibits on Germans, Irish, Jews, Poles, Italians, Greeks, and more who arrived through Baltimore, once America’s third-largest port of entry. Learn about African American migration and recent arrivals from Asia and Latin America. Check out this historic Immigrant House operated by the Baltimore Immigration Museum! |
Narrative Collage
with Linda Popp Wednesday, 3:00 to 5:00pm | Elaborate the narrative of a personal photograph using collage/assemblage techniques. In this workshop participants will create a collage or assemblage using found materials/objects to tell more of the story of a personal, meaningful photograph. The photograph can be of a person, place, animal, or event. Materials can include papers, fabrics, and small objects. I will share concepts, techniques and tips from my studio practice. I will share a powerpoint presentation and examples of narrative collages and assemblages. Participants will need to supply their photograph/s, collage materials and assemblage objects. Instructor will supply background paper, adhesives (mod podge, glue stick, hot glue, E6000), brushes, scissors, x-acto knives. |

Field Trip The Homewood Museum Friday, February 28, 2025 | The Homewood Museum a National Historic Landmark, Homewood is one of the best-surviving examples of Federal-period Palladian architecture in the nation. Built circa 1801is offering a free admission in the month of February in honor of Black History Month so that everyone has a chance to hear the powerful stories of its early Black residents, including their struggles, contributions, resistance, and resilience!
